Layers magazine Tip of the Day Adobe Illustrator CS3 Tip - Adding Color to Your Swatches In a Illustrator seminar about the new color features in Illustrator CS3, one participant asked me, Is there a quick way to add the colors Fills of several selected objects to the Swatches panel?" I answered, "I can think of a couple of ways to add all selected colors at one time. If you plan on using these colors together, you could just click the ‘New Color Group' button at the bottom of my Swatches panel (Window>Swatches) and the Color Group Options window will open. Make sure that ‘Selected Art' is chosen in the ‘Create From' section, name the Group and click OK to add all colors as Swatches in a Color Group. If you'd like to add all the colors in the selected objects as regular Swatches, look under the Options menu of the Swatches panel, and select ‘Add Selected Colors' and the Swatches will be added."
